Bell Shakespeare has announced the launch of Shakespeare Storytime – a series of fun online drama workshops all about Shakespeare for young people.
Exploring a range of Shakespeare’s classic plays in an entertaining and engaging format perfect for children aged from 6 – 10, the 6-week program begins on Monday 8 June and features playful drama workshops and accompanying at-home activities.
Artistic Director Peter Evans said that the program would introduce young people to Shakespeare in an active, fun-filled way from the comfort of their own home.
“We are thrilled to launch this brand-new program, taking young people on a journey through Shakespeare’s astonishing stories, captivating characters and spellbinding language, along with interesting historical facts,” said Mr Evans.
Participants will take part in a weekly 45-minute workshop via Zoom delivered by Bell Shakespeare Teaching Artists, and then complete at-home worksheets following each session to build on what they’ve learned.
Workshops will be delivered live on Mondays from 8 June. Each workshop will be recorded and will be available online to access at any time along with the accompanying worksheets, following each week’s live workshop.
Shakespeare Storytime is an accredited Creative Kids program, meaning that NSW families may access a $100 voucher to cover program costs. For more information, visit: www.bellshakespeare.com.au for details.
