Eight Fellows will each receive $35,000 to explore, question and create new work shaped by the Library’s diverse holdings.

Fellows join a vibrant intellectual community and work alongside experts and peers to explore the unique stories, histories and perspectives held across one of the world’s great research collections.

National Library of Australia Fellowships are open to experienced researchers needing to undertake sustained work with the Library’s collections to advance their research towards publication or other public outcomes.

The Creative Arts Fellowship for Australian Writing supports writers across all genres to develop work inspired by these rich resources.

These Fellowships are made possible by the generosity of our philanthropic partners, whose support helps researchers create new knowledge and share it with the nation.

“For many researchers and creators, receiving a Fellowship is the chance to finally focus on that big idea that’s been waiting for time and space. Our collections open up possibilities you don’t even realise are there until you start searching,” says Cathie Oats, Director of Reader Services.
