After debuting her one-woman show at last year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival to great acclaim, Rama Nicholas returns to the 2014 festival with a Moosehead Award and a brand new show.
Nicholas’ talent for comedic storytelling and character comedy are again revisited in her one-woman Grimm-Fairy tale Musical, After Ever After, a wickedly hilarious action adventure ride into the wild world of Grimm. Switching seamlessly between 15 characters Nicholas brings to light the untold adult version of what really happened to Red Riding Hood, Mr Wolf and Snow White.
Twenty years after eating Grandma, Big Bad Wolf is out of The Pound and ready to party. Red’s back in the Hood and hell bent on revenge with her wicked kung fu skills. Snow White, a middle-aged alcoholic realises she’s no longer the fairest of them all… will they ever find their happy ending? One things for sure, this ain’t no bedtime story.
As a member of Secret Impro Theatre and Impro Melbourne’s Ensemble, Nicholas directs, produces and performs improvised productions. She also teaches improvisation and tours regionally. She is the creator and director of the highly acclaimed The Wishing Tree, a long-form improvised performance inspired by the Japanese cultural celebration, Tanabata, which has been performed in Australia and overseas. Nicholas also created the captivating Gypsyprov and her most recent work ‘Howlin was critically acclaimed in Germany.
Don’t miss this multi-talented performer in After Ever After at the 2014 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Be prepared to howl with laughter… The fairy tale’s over!
