Adelaide Fringe: Bernie Dieter’s Little Death Club

AF19 Bernie Dieter's Little Death ClubWhen a show starts off with the performers running through the audience throwing popcorn in your mouth or sitting on your lap or just welcoming you in general you know its going to be a wild ride! Bernie Dieter’s Little Death Club is a wild and raunchy ride of lust and debauchery leaving you dizzy with delight.

The eclectic list of performers makes for one exotic and sensual show. There’s the long legged sexy bearded lady Gingzilla, the gorgeous fire breathing Kitty Bang Bang, the seductive Latex Sex Doll, the handsome and gobsmacking contortionist Beau Sargent and the side-splitting hilarity of Tipi the Mime (Josh Glanc) and of course the Mistress of Mayhem, Bernie Dieter.

Dieter is magnificent as the hostess, permeating sex with every move and every breathe all the while with a mischievous grin on her face. Telling the audience half way through her song “Look at you all shitting yourselves.” Yes, we were but in a good way (if that’s possible).

Her interaction with the audience was saucy and be warned you may be picked on. What you wear or how you look can draw her attention. On this night she gave out nicknames to selected people in the audience like Stripey or Shaven Haven. Those poor souls never stood a chance and at some point, became part of the show all with hilarious results.

Gingzilla is just sex on legs with a powerhouse voice. You can’t help but be polarised by her beauty and her sense of fun. She’s a ginger version of Marilyn Monroe and the way she eats a packet of chips and Nutella… well… go see the show. Kitty Bang Bang is the Bearded Lady and you don’t need to look twice to see her beard! Her fire breathing antics will certainly get you hot. Sitting in the front row was a fiery experience that was a rush of adrenaline.

Leah Shelton is the latex Sex Doll who will shock you as well as endear you. Her sexy little strip show is done tastefully but with a clear message that she means business. Contortionist Beau Sargent left us in awe with the way he bended and weaved his body around to positions that you could never imagine being possible.

There’s also the hilarious Tipi the Mime played by Josh Glanc who gives a different yet unconventional take on mime. This show has nudity, seductive intimacy, audience involvement and lots of naughty and raunchy antics that will leave you blushing.

As we were told “some people will be shocked, some will be disgusted, and some have left already” but please don’t leave. This dark and broody bunch of misfits are brilliant. This is one unpredictable and boundary pushing late night show that you need to see at the Adelaide Fringe if you haven’t already.
