For the third program of the 2022 season, Adelaide Chamber Singers (ACS) is proud to present their new ensemble ACS² which paves the way for emerging singers from Adelaide to be skillfully mentored by a quartet of core ACS ensemble members.
Directed by both the current Artistic Director and Conductor, Christie Anderson, and ACS’ Founder and Conductor Emeritus, Dr Carl Crossin OAM, ACS² will begin its journey in professional music making this October, becoming part of the ACS family and joining the core in many future opportunities.
The ACS² members have the opportunity to learn from two of Adelaide’s most accomplished choral directors, as well as ACS core vocal mentors Brooke Window (soprano), Rachel Bruerville (alto), Richard Black (tenor), and Jonathan Bligh (bass).
This program includes, Whitacre A Boy and a Girl, excerpts from Chilcott’s Fragments from his Dish, Pärt Solfeggio, glorious music by William Byrd, and wonderful ensemble music from the Kings’ Singers and Voces 8 songbooks.
Artistic Director Christie Anderson says she is looking forward to sharing this new project with a live audience.
“This emerging group of singers has been working incredibly hard and for them to be able to perform in front of a large audience as part of the ACS 2022 program is something that they whole heartedly deserve,” said Anderson.
Anderson is also glad to be back working with Carl Crossin. “Having worked with Carl over many years it is absolutely brilliant to share this program with him,” she said.
“He’s such a skilled conductor and educator, and to see the influence he has on this talented new group is wonderful.”
