Adelaide Chamber Singers – In House

Adelaide-Chamber-Singers-photo-by-Johanis-Lyons-ReidThe Adelaide Chamber Singers (ACS), under the direction of newly appointed Artistic Director (AD) & Conductor Christie Anderson, will perform In House – the first performance in the 2022 program and Anderson’s first as AD and conductor, this July.

Following a hugely successful presentation of the 2022 Adelaide Festival event Watershed: The Death of Dr. Duncan, ACS will present its own season from July to November 2022.

The first program – In House – has all three performances presented at Chateau Apollo – an ideal space for chamber music and a new venue for ACS. The program includes Lassus’ glorious Musica Dei Donum Optimi (Music, Gift of the Gods) and Cantate Domino (Sing to the Lord) by Claudio Monteverdi, and Love Lost vignettes by Paul Sjolund.

Anderson says she can think of no better place to begin the season, and her tenure as Artistic Director and Conductor than at Chateau Apollo.

Christie Anderson is a singer and award-winning conductor whose love of vocal chamber music has developed in her years as a core singer, Associate Conductor, and now, Artistic Director of Adelaide Chamber Singers.

Christie has been Artistic Director of youth choir school Young Adelaide Voices since 2010, is the Artistic Director of WATU Youth Choir Festival, and is a founding member of the EVE vocal trio. She has sung and conducted in many festivals in Australia and around the world, and was awarded the Special Prize for Best Conductor of the Festival at the 2016 Bratislava International Youth Music Festival.

Christie has been involved in many new commissions – most recently in the creating and performances of critically acclaimed choral/acrobatic show The Pulse with Gravity and Other Myths, and was the Conductor and Musical Director of the newly commissioned work Watershed: The Death of Dr Duncan for the 2022 Adelaide Festival.
