Join Theatre Works and a host of Melbourne’s outstanding independent artists for a night of glittering, artistic Abundance – at their venue in St Kilda’s historic Acland St on Saturday 12 July 2014.
In a unique collaboration, Theatre Works will join forces with Elbow Room (The Motion of Light in Water), Uninvited Guests (I Heart John McEnroe), Dirty Pretty Theatre (Thérèse Raquin) and Little Ones Theatre (The House of Yes) to host the second annual Abundance Fundraising Party – aiming to raise $20,000 to support these exciting independent theatre companies.
Abundance will sumptuously transform Theatre Works into a quirky and playful cabaret space programmed with a host of eclectic performances – a stunning line up of music, cabaret, comedy and surprises. Guests will be treated to a glass of bubbles on arrival, canapés, a silent auction and even a chook raffle.
Featured artists including Jane Badler, Grammy award winner Jeff Bova, Bryce Ives, Virginia Gay, Roderick Cairns, Beau Heartbreaker, Nicholas Renfree-Marks, Angela Hogan, Joseph Chetty and Luisa Hastings Edge have all come on board, donating their performances to support Melbourne’s extraordinary independent performing arts sector.
“Over 19,000 people saw Theatre Works work in 2013 and our night of Abundance is one of the ways that Theatre Works supports independent artists to create work for those theatre goers,” says Daniel Clarke, Creative Producer – Theatre Works.
“I’m so grateful to all the performers who are donating their time to perform on the night and to the extraordinary support of the businesses who have donated items for our silent auction.”
