In 2025, ABC Classic heralds the arrival of another exciting year as Australia’s home of Classical Music with the introduction of four new programs.
What’s On with Alice Keath will share a listener’s guide to Australia’s best classical concerts and live performances in their communities, (Wednesday from 6.00pm). Music Class with Genevieve Lang and Ed Le Brocq (Saturday at 12.00pm) is set to answer all your questions about classical music, diving deep into the music you know and love.
Peaceful Piano (Sunday 9.00pm) and Wind Down (Weekdays from 11.00pm) will both be hosted by widely lauded performer, musician and storyteller Taj Aldeeb, who is set to bring listeners music to calm, relax and soothe.
Martin Buzzacott also returns to ABC Classic to host Weekend Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 9.00am – 12.00pm. Following a short time off the ABC airwaves, Martin is ready to share his creativity, humour, energy and deep knowledge of classical music with listeners around Australia.
ABC Classic also welcomes new presenter and award-winning First Nations soprano Nina Korbe to The Musical Show at 8.00pm on Sundays.
Elsewhere across the station, the following program time changes will commence from Monday 20 January:
- Classic Breakfast with Dr Megan Burslem will air from Monday – Friday: 6.00am – 9.00am
- Mornings with Russell Torrance moves to 9.00am – 1.00pm
- Classic Drive with Vanessa Hughes is now 3.00pm – 6.00pm

Mindful Music, Legends, Passenger and Game Show move to 6.00pm with Passenger also moving to Thursdays
- Duet with Tamara Anna-Cislowska moves to 12.00pm on Sundays

Audience favourite Saturday Baroque is now Weekend Baroque with Alice Keath, adding an additional day, now airing on Saturday and Sunday from 3.00pm.
ABC Classic is the home of classical music concerts, with Australian and international concerts airing on Lunchtime Concert with Genevieve Lang and Stéphanie Kabanyana Kanyandekwe 1.00pm Monday to Sunday and Evenings with Joel Carnegie, now at 7.00pm weekdays.
ABC Classic has also unveiled this year’s Classic 100 countdown theme: Piano. In 2025, ABC Classic is asking Australian music lovers for their favourite pieces for the piano. From solos to sonatas, the music you hammered out at piano lessons to concertos that fill a concert hall.
ABC Classic is ready to celebrate all the emotions, sounds, and colours of one of Australia’s favourite instruments in the Classic 100: Piano. Stay tuned for more information on this year’s Classic 100, coming soon.
2025 at ABC Jazz will see presenters Eric Ajaye (Jazz Legends), Monica Trapaga (The Dinner Set), Mal Stanley (Jazztrack and Jazztrack Live) and James Valentine (Upbeat) all return for another year, offering a diverse selection of jazz music to listeners across the country.
In addition, there will also be an exciting shift to the Artist in Residence program. Following 50 artist appearances on ABC Jazz since 2000, the program will extend this year to include a new music performance, with each featured artist invited into the ABC Jazz studio for a solo recording session. The new edition of the program will launch in February 2025 with saxophonist Mike Rivett.
