On the Couch with Megan Hilty

Megan Hilty Arts Review On the CouchWho is Megan Hilty?
A mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, dog-owner/lover, actress & singer who lives in NYC… at the moment!

What would you do differently to what you do now?
I would either be a makeup artist or a chef.  I’ve always been obsessed with makeup – and I love to feed people.

Who inspires you and why?
I’ve been really fortunate to work with a lot of incredible women who all inspire me for many reasons. Dolly Parton is at the top of the list for being a great businesswoman who treats everyone with great respect. She also approaches every situation with a positive attitude and an incredible sense of humor.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Invent some kind of technology that would force people to turn their phones off when they attend live theater. That would definitely make the world a better place!

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Hawaii. My husband and I try to get there once a year. Time just seems to stand still when you’re there so it’s the one place where I feel like I can really relax.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
When people come visit me in NYC I take them to my favorite bakery, Levain, to get the best cookies in town and then take a long walk in Central Park.

What are you currently reading?
Amy Poehler’s Yes Please.

What are you currently listening to?
I’m doing a Rosemary Clooney show at The Cafe Carlyle right now so I’m listening to a lot of her music.

Happiness is?
Being with my family.

What does the future hold for you?
A concert tour through Australia! I’m visiting Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide – I can’t wait!
