On the Couch with Glory Tuohy-Daniell

Glory Tuohy-Daniell AAR On the CouchWho is Glory Tuohy-Daniell?
Great question who is Glory Tuohy-Daniell? Sometimes I’m not too sure aye. I think I’m a very simple person that can be complex and then I think I’m a very complex person who can be very simple. I think I am a person who is anxious about the future, sometimes visiting the past too much and with all that just trying to be present with today.

What would you do differently from what you do now?
I have no idea what I would do differently. I’m a bit of a realist so I don’t spend too much time thinking about what I would do if I wasn’t doing this –  I just do my best learning and then applying that for tomorrow.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I think I am already a part of something that does make a difference in the world. Dancing as a form of communication and sharing is something that humans have been doing for thousand and thousands of years and to continue that storytelling. I think I’m a part of making a difference in the world. And I think it’s something that we need to do more of small humans and the big humans.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
My favourite holiday destination is visiting my family out in the bush or visiting my friends wherever they are on their journey. I don’t really mind where we go, it usually more about the company for me.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Right now I pay rent in Sydney and if friends or family come to visit, I’m bringing them to my apartment because that’s where all my money goes right now and then we’re going for a walk from there.

What are you currently reading?
Emails, emails and emails. As an independent artist, a freelancer artist, that’s what I’m reading right now.

What are you currently listening to?
I’ve been listening to this one song on repeat for a bit and it’s a remix of Rihanna’s Kiss it Better on SoundCloud that’s been getting me through and I fall asleep to podcasts.

Happiness is?
Gurrrrl most times happiness is in the small things for me – going to the beach with a few friends and it’s very clear water and the sun’s out and you’re just waying those small calm waves and no one is speaking or when I was a kid and I would ride my horse and I could just feel the wind on my skin and hear the wind in my ears and you just feel free or sometimes it’s when you’re just dancing alone in your room or it’s a hug from a family member you don’t wanna let go of or it’s just sitting around beautiful people and just sitting back and watching everyone laughing and you’re like damn this is like my reality right now how’d I get so lucky?!

What’s does the future hold for you?
Well that is an impossible question because I’m not a psychic even though sometimes I think I am so I have no idea and that both makes me anxious and very excited, I guess we’re about to find out as we go.
