Who is Karl Richmond?
I wanna say it’s me, I’m an actor etc. but there’s a real estate agent on the Mornington Peninsula called Karl Richmond that my google alerts has been popping off on. I read every article about the houses he’s sold and can only hope he reads the reviews for my shows.
What would you do differently from what you do now?
Take interviews more seriously.
Who inspires you and why?
People who are better than me.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Just bring the vibes back to theatre.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Shanghai cause everyone gave me free booze all the time and the art was crazy good.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Docklands. Take a few bevs down the docks underneath the Bolte Bridge and watch the sunset.
What are you currently reading?
I can’t lie, I’m a step away from being a philistine. I’ve been ‘reading’ St Mungo for over a year now.
What are you currently listening to?
For Those I Love’s newish album Carving the Stone, which is very much about the love of home versus the desire to leave. I’ve been listening to it a lot whilst working on my new show Never Closer.
Happiness is?
A trap.
What does the future hold for you?
I’m feeling fame and wealth. I’m expecting a few beers at the pub.
Karl can be seen in Grace Chapple’s Never Closer – which will be presented at fortyfivedownstairs from 7 – 24 May 2026. For more information, visit: www.fortyfivedownstairs.com for details.
