Brisbane art lovers can browse and buy thousands of original artworks when Affordable Art Fair makes its highly anticipated return to the Brisbane Showgrounds from 7 – 10 May 2026.
Returning for its third year over the Mother’s Day weekend, the Brisbane Fair brings together over 55 independent galleries from across Australia, with artworks ranging from $100 to $10,000.
Brisbane has embraced the Fair’s mission of making art accessible and enjoyable for both first-time buyers and seasoned collectors, with more than 13,300 visitors attending the 2025 event and spending a record $3.3 million on art.
Australian Fair Director Georgia Huestis said she expects records to be set again when Affordable Art Fair returns to Brisbane in May, ahead of Fairs in Melbourne (27 – 30 August) and Sydney (5 – 8 November).
“The Fair is centred on ensuring there is art for all, and Affordable Art Fair is a place where people can connect with artists, talk to galleries and discover art they genuinely love in a welcoming, relaxed environment,” said Huestis.
“Visitors can expect emerging artists, local talent and esteemed national galleries, watch artists in action and immerse themselves in an array of art styles. They will also enjoy access to incredible gallerists and experts who can help with the end-to end art-buying process.”
The 2026 Fair offers a packed program of artistic experiences. Highlights include an Artist in Action series with live painting demonstrations, and the Discover: Young Talent Exhibition, which provides emerging artists with a platform to show their work at a major international art fair.
Guests will also be greeted by celebrated muralist Jason Parker’s larger than life rotating suspended mural and installation alongside a live painting demonstration on opening night.
Returning galleries include Good Work Gallery, known for their multimedia artworks by artists Morgana Celeste, Misha Harrison and emerging ceramicist Lucie Billingsley; Burleigh-based creative collective Mint Art House will return, with artist Claudio Kirac also hosting this year’s Children’s Art Studio; and Aspire Gallery from Paddington with a collection of playful, approachable works under $1,000.
Other returning favourites include Stevens Street Gallery in Yandina which champions over 120 local Queensland artists; Gold Coast Gallery, founded by artist Angela Hawkey known for her gestural paintings using a palette knife; regional NSW’s Jumbled adored for its bright, high-energy artworks; and Salt Contemporary, hosting established painters Ben Shearer, Dean Bowen and Joanne Sisson joining from Victoria’s surfcoast.
Making their Brisbane debut this year are Rich & Strange, which showcases stunning oil paintings and realism by Alice Palmer and Joe Whyte amongst their stable of artists; Artist Lane and its diverse roster, including Indigenous artist Kamilya Lowana; and the female-led Oddball Gallery, adorning the walls with contemporary works by Chloe Blythman and Em Hatton.
Also, back by popular demand, The Toowoomba Gallery, founded by locals Bec Statton and Niki Hall, remains a much-loved favourite at the Fair. “The Fair is always such a joy to be part of. Meeting thousands of art lovers and seeing their reactions to our work is incredibly rewarding,” said Stratton.
Affordable Art Fair is a fantastic way to introduce more people to the world of collecting and inspire them to explore and enjoy art in their everyday lives. We’re excited to be partaking in the Brisbane fair in 2026 again, and to welcome everyone to our space.”
The 2026 Fair continues to champion First Nations artists through its Access Partner program. Artists of Ampilatwatja presents ethically sourced artworks that celebrate deep connections to Country and bush medicine. Warlukurlangu Artists, representing Central Australian Aboriginal artists, offers internationally recognised works at affordable prices, with many pieces under $500 to start your collecting journey.
