Placing a side-splitting spotlight on the complex love-hate relationship of owning a Dyson vacuum cleaner, Katrina Mathers presents the premiere season of Anything But The Dyson and Other Excellent Monologues at Trainscendence, as part of the 2026 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, from 26 March – 19 April.
Created and performed by Katrina Mathers, with direction by Roz Hammond, Anything But The Dyson and Other Excellent Monologues is a series of clever and self-contained stories and reflections about midlife mayhem.
Interwoven with other excellent monologues about slamming into your 50s, MICF audiences can expect a rollercoaster expose about the joys of sweating, swearing, dating, menopause meltdowns, cold-water triumphs, memory loss… and um, no…wait, I just had it, er, something else…
Performed throughout the festival in the Black Box Theatre at Trainscendence – Collingwood’s newest and most eclectic arts hubs – Anything But The Dyson and Other Excellent Monologues is in no way endorsed by the manufacturers of Dyson vacuum cleaners.
Returning to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for the first time in 23 years, join 2003 Moosehead Award recipient Katrina Mathers(The Wedge, Flipside, Footy Chicks) on a fun, honest and chaotic journey of navigating the wonders of menopause. Older, hotter, funnier. Bring a fan!
