On the Couch with Liam Fitzgerald

Liam Fitzgerald AAR On the CouchWho is Liam Fitzgerald?
I’m a young man from Sydney. I love watching (and playing when I get the chance these days) all different sports, especially football. I’ve been working full-time as an Irish dancer with Pace Live and their productions for 3 years getting to perform in the United Kingdom (on London’s West End), in 40+ states of America (including Off-Broadway in NYC), Ireland, New Zealand and Australia. When I’m not on tour I love watching the footy, having a beer with my friends and playing with my dog at the park.

What would do differently from what you do now?
I love doing what I do with my life and don’t spend much time thinking about what I would do differently. I love travelling but I do also miss home when I’m away for 9 months of the year. When I’m home it’s important to appreciate my time there but I don’t think I’d do anything differently.

Who inspires you and why?
I’m inspired by past and future versions of myself. A young version of myself would want me to push as hard as I can in everything I do and would want me to do everything I can to succeed. I would like a future version of myself to be proud of the effort I put into our work and be proud of the person I have become.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I’d like to make a difference in the lives of the people I interact with each and every day. I would like people to find comfort in my company and feel confident to express themselves as truly as they can.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
I love to holiday anywhere north of Sydney on the NSW coast. I love the beaches that NSW has, the local food stores, the beers and the people.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to and why?
When friends come from overseas, they all want to see the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. My favourite ways to see the harbour is on a boat party – so I’ll try to organise that if there’s a large group. If I have any more time though, I love North Curl Curl Beach and love taking friends there to see one of my favourite beaches.

What are you currently reading?
I rotate between reading a fiction book and a non-fiction book. Recently I’ve been reading lots of fantasy fiction books and investing non-fiction books. The last book I finished was Don’t Stress, Just Invest and the book I’m reading right now is Onyx Storm from the Empyrean series.

What are you currently listening too?
Right now, I’m listening to as much Christmas music as my ears will allow. I also have been listening to a lot of UK rap as one my favourites artists, Dave, recently released a new album.

Happiness is?
To me, it’s being fulfilled with I do. Making sure I enjoy every moment I have on this earth and spending it doing things I like to do.

What does the future hold for you?
I hope the future has lots of travel for me to do. I love getting to live in new cultures, different climates and all the other differences that come with new places. I hope the future has a lot of big audiences – as I love the thrill that comes with performing for people and putting smiles on faces.
