Who is Christopher Wayne?
I am the co creator and co star of the funniest, sexiest, and naughtiest, magic show on the planet!
What would you do differently to what you do now?
Career wise? I used to be a comedy writer for Austereo (Radio) network. I love creating content that makes people laugh. So I would be doing anything that puts a smile on peoples faces.
Who inspires you and why?
David Copperfield is my stage idol. He was the first magician to take TRICKS and inject different emotions into them. He is the only magician that I can watch and feel like a kid all over again.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I get on stages and use the gifts that I have to make people smile.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Las Vegas is my favorite holiday destination. Cocktails, rollercoasters, and magic shows.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take then to, and why?
I’m from Brisbane, and a big foodie, so I love taking friends to some of my favorite restaurants that arent common knowledge.
What are you currently reading?
I am reading the biography of Nev Schulman, who was the subject of the documentary film Catfish. Its an amazing read about a guy who fell in love with a woman online, to only find out that there was someone completely different at the other end of the computer.
What are you currently listening to?
I have The Lumineers on repeat at the moment. Stubborn Love is easily the best song ever written, it gives me all the feelings.
Happiness is?
Doing what makes you happy, and letting that flow into the lives of others.
What does the future hold for you?
Right now, The Naked Magicians sells out every single theatre it goes to, and we are so thankful for that. We are getting amazing offers for the show in Australia and abroad. So right now the future holds lots of magic, lots of laughs, and lots of nudity!
With over 200 international shows a year, Christopher Wayne is best known as the magician from Channel 10’s Toasted TV, and has appeared with his magic on many other TV shows including Sunrise, Totally Wild, the 7PM Project and was the first magician in Australian TV history to have his own TV show, More Than Magic, which had successful runs in New Zealand, England and America.
Aside from his performing schedule, Christopher is known in Australia’s TV and Radio community as one of the most gifted comedy writers around, a skill that became very handy when creating The Naked Magicians.
Christopher will be performing with The Naked Magicians at Gluttony as part of the Adelaide Fringe: 13 February – 1 March. For more information, visit: www.thenakedmagicians.com.au for details.
