Who is Imani Williams?
What a loaded question! I am a singer, actor and dancer. I am a family person, a foodie and I love to write. I live in far north Queensland and spend as much time as I can out in nature.
What would you do differently from what you do now?
If I wasn’t an actor, I would love to do a job where I work with animals. Probably something to do with endangered animal conservation or marine biology.
Who inspires you and why?
I have always been inspired by the powerful women in my life, especially my family. I have a very supportive family who have always strived towards their goals with passion and hard work, even though we all work very different careers and walk very different paths.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I have always believed that if you approach the world with good intentions and kindness you will make a positive impact. Like the saying goes, it costs nothing to be kind.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
My favourite holiday destination was definitely visiting Greece and Cyprus. I spent time in Athens and a few of the islands a couple of years ago. I am a big fan of Greek Mythology so going to all the temples, the Acropolis and landmarks straight out of some of those stories was incredible. Also I am a huge foodie and I had some of the most remarkable meals of my life over there.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Sydney beaches are so beautiful, I am such a big fan of spending a day in the sun by the ocean with some fresh fruit and a good book. I also will never pass up an opportunity to go see a show, and there are so many beautiful theatres in Sydney and of course the iconic Sydney Opera House.
What are you currently reading?
I always try to read two books at a time, a fiction and a non fiction. At the moment I’m reading Red Rising by Pierce Brown and Phophorescence by Julia Baird.
What are you currently listening to?
I am a big fan of Olivia Dean, her music has such a beautiful feminine and classic vibe to it and it is perfect for lounging around on sunny days. I’m also an incredibly big fan of Hozier – I saw his concert last year and it was the best concert I have ever been to. His lyrics have always been so captivating to me and his vocal ability is astonishing.
Happiness is?
Spending time doing the things you love, with the ones you love. Enjoying the little things as well as the big things.
What does the future hold for you?
I mean you can never know for sure, but I hope the future holds a lot more performing, spending time with family and friends and many incredible adventures.
