Who is Olivia Vásquez?
I’m a passionate, storytelling, cackling Aquarius – deep-feeling, big-dreaming, and not afraid to get a little philosophical over matcha. I’m a daughter, partner, sister, auntie, and proud mum to my fur babies.
I’m Latina and Greek so you better believe there’s fire and feeling behind everything I do – whether I’m on stage, on screen, or behind the mic. I’m an actor, singer, and producer who leads with curiosity, compassion, and just the right amount of chaos (hopefully).
What would you do differently from what you do now?
I think I would either be a detective or a veterinarian!
Who inspires you and why?
I find inspiration everywhere – it’s hard to name just one source. Artists like Prince and Donna Summer (and so many more!) remind me of the power of individuality and presence. The special people in my life inspire me daily with their strength, softness, and honesty.
And God… God is the ultimate artist. I feel so inspired when I’m in nature – the colours, the silence, the design of it all. But I think more than anything, I’m inspired by audacity it takes to dream big – and the hustle to make those dreams a reality.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I want to leave everything a little better than it was when I arrived. The world can be a tough place – and honestly, it can weigh heavy on me, especially with everything going on right now. I believe we need more justice, more compassion, and far less ego and greed driving our decisions.
I try to contribute in ways that feel authentic to me: through veganism, storytelling, activism, and by doing the inner work – healing myself and focusing on the things I can shift in my own orbit. That’s where I believe real change begins. And then maybe we can all change the world.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Bora Bora with my fiancé. Sun, beach, nature, fresh food and a book? Sounds like perfection to me.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Lucky for me, most of my friends are foodies – so first stop is always the best vegan food joint I can find. Melbourne is such a dream for plant-based eats, and I’ve got a running list of places I need to try while I’m here.
What are you currently reading?
Witness 8 by Steve Cavanagh.
What are you currently listening to?
I’m always curious (and slightly terrified) to see what my Spotify Daylist has come up with – it’s usually chaotic in the best way. But if that’s not hitting, I just follow whatever mood I’m in. One day it’s soul or R&B, the next it’s Latin, then a full musical theatre moment. It’s always on rotation!
Happiness is?
Honestly? I think it’s peace. It’s remembering that we all have something unique to offer – and that there’s no race, so go at your own pace. Happiness is in reminding yourself of the cool things you’ve done, while also finding joy in the simple, everyday moments. Be kind. Be real. Drink your water. Stay in your lane. And whenever you can, lead with love.
What does the future hold for you?
I feel like I’m just getting started, creatively. I’m excited to make more music and keep telling stories – on both stage and screen. I’ll be making my Australian television debut soon in a thrilling new show on STAN called Watching You, and I cannot wait for it to drop… so stay tuned!
I’m actively seeking out (and calling in!) roles and creative ventures that are juicy, thought-provoking, and full of heart. I love acting and the challenge of stepping into someone else’s shoes. I also just love being creatively versatile – it keeps things fresh, exciting, and evolving.
And outside of work? It’s the simple things that keep me feeling full – spending time with my fiancé, fur babies, my family and friends, and travelling whenever I can.
