On the Couch with Peter Cook

Peter Cook AAR On the CouchWho is Peter Cook?
An artist, a writer, an actor and educator and someone who believes in kindness and the power of art to change hearts and minds.

What would you do differently from what you do now?
Stress less and try and trust and enjoy the process. It’s so easy to get caught up in outcomes and achievements. I really wish I’d spent more time enjoying life. That’s the goal moving forward. See even that is a goal.

Who inspires you and why?
Anyone who’s had to fight for every inch to make their dream come true.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I feel like my show has made some small ripples in the world, it’s changed minds and attitudes about addiction. I think you can make a difference in the world just by smiling at a stranger. But outside of daily practices and making art, probably work hands on with people in recovery.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Northern Rivers of NSW. It’s God’s country. I feel so relaxed there.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
The Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay and get the Ferry to Manly.

What are you currently reading?
Just started Boy Swallows Universe by Trent Dalton.

What are you currently listening to?
Conversations with God on YouTube by Neale Donald Walsch.

Happiness is?
Sun, surf, a cool breeze and no plans. No phone, no computer.

What does the future hold for you?
Living my dream.
