Australia’s premier celebration of creativity and craftsmanship, the Craft & Quilt Fair returns to ICC Sydney, Darling Harbour, this June.
Craft participation in Australia has grown significantly in recent years, fuelled by pandemic lockdowns, social media and a renewed interest in handmade and sustainable hobbies.
The trend shows no sign of slowing, with millions of Australians now regularly engaging in craft projects and the market continuing to expand: Hashtags like #aussiecraft, #australiancraft and #diycrafts have grown 30% across Instagram and TikTok.
“There’s something magical about coming together to celebrate all things craft – the energy, the ideas, the shared passion. Whether you’re an experienced maker or just starting out, the fair is a place to be inspired, try something new, and connect with others who love to create,” Jess Kent, Craft Portfolio Leader.
“This year’s fair is packed with highlights! Discover independent Australian retailers with specialist supplies and meet local NSW guilds and community craft groups showcasing their talents and sharing knowledge. Don’t miss the free Seminars, Make & Takes, and Live Demos – our exhibitors are here to teach, inspire, and connect with you.”
This year’s Craft & Quilt Fair promises lots of creative inspiration and hands-on experiences, including:
- Studio Workshops with expert tutors featuring classes in resin jewellery, foam clay mirror creation and fabric printing to name a few. You can check these out here!
- The renowned Australian Quilt Show, AQC Challenge with their ‘On The Map’ theme and One Red Thread display with their ‘Love is Red’ theme.
- Local quilters guilds: The Sydney Modern Quilt Guild, The Wollongong Modern Quilt Guild and Hunters Hill Quilters.
- Live demonstrations, Make & Take sessions and free seminars including being able to make & take your own pair of crystal earrings and quilted labels.
- A vibrant Makers Space featuring handmade creations from local artists.
- Lots of unique shopping opportunities, featuring small creators and businesses.
- Special guest artists such as Jake Henzler (Boy Knits World) and assemblage artist Louise Saxton – whose workshops both sold out at the Melbourne event last year and Cathy Jack Coupland.
With thousands of craft enthusiasts, makers and industry leaders expected to attend, the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair is the perfect platform to showcase unique craft products, connect with an ever-growing craft audience, learn how products work, pick up a new technique and be part of Australia’s thriving creative community.
The 2025 Craft & Quilt Fair takes place at ICC Sydney, Darling Harbour, from 26 – 29 June. For more information, visit: www.craftfair.com.au for details.
