Jessica Barton: Dirty Work

Returning home from a two-year creative sabbatical in France and London, Australia’s Jessica Barton combines a spoonful of song, dance, clowning, and deep-cleaning to present a skanky and empowering homecoming Comedy debut. Expect Julie Andrews meets a silent Fleabag

Created in response to living with her 26 year-old boyfriend, his 18 year-old brother and their equal-in-size greyhound dog, what was promised to be an equal, job-shared household swiftly melted into a reflection of heteronormative 1950’s dynamics.

“I felt like a hot, useful and super capable mother-figure at first, then that novelty very quickly wore off,” said Barton.

Hailing from Naarm / Melbourne, Australia, Jessica Barton is a triple-threat Clown, combining her Bachelor of Musical Theatre degree from the Victorian College of the Arts with her professional training from L’Ecole Philippe Gaulier to deliver highly professional comedy, professionally.

After multiple work-in-progress performances with standing ovations in Brighton and London and a successful Adelaide Fringe Festival run, Ms Floppins is ready and raring to return to home soil for some much needed Dirty Work.
