Now open for registration, the two-day forum invites First Peoples creatives from across Victoria to come together to reflect, network, share information, present ideas, and envision the future of the First Peoples creative industries in Victoria.

First Peoples led events, film and television production company Typecast are working closely with the Directions Circle and the Creative Victoria First Peoples team to bring the event to life.

Taking place at the Aboriginal Advancement League in Thornbury, the forum is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only and has a creative and cultural focus. Featuring panels, talks, workshops and more there will be a variety of opportunities for local First Peoples creatives to connect.

The forum is an initiative of the Creative Victoria First Peoples Direction Circle – a group of esteemed First Peoples leaders and professionals working across creative, education, community and philanthropic sectors.

The Directions Circle embeds First Peoples self-determination and community voice in the development and delivery of Creative Victoria programs and initiatives, and works to strengthen the experiences of First Peoples creatives at all career levels.

“We are proud to be holding this event in Naarm/Melbourne and excited to be working with the Typecast team to make it happen – this is a Mob Only forum to talk about First Peoples creative industries in a culturally safe environment,” said Vicki Couzens, Chair of the First Peoples Direction Circle.

“This is open to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, performers, creative workers and leaders who are living and working in the state, and we encourage you to register your interest to be part of the forum.”
