On the Couch with Alec Snow

Alec-Snow-AAR-On-the-CouchWho is Alec Snow?
I’m still trying to figure that one out…

What would you do differently from what you do now?
I would like to travel by myself more. I think there is a joy to be found in being alone while you’re exploring new places.

Who inspires you and why?
My family, my teachers my close friends and anyone who can be completely comfortable in being unapologetically themselves. People who are kind and have integrity and who move through their life like Dionysus riding a tiger.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Telling stories that invoke some sort of self reflection. Stories that might lead to a deeper self awareness. Being kind. Making people laugh.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Nepal. I love the mountains and the people.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Snorkelling in Gordon’s Bay, a cocktail at Maybe Franks and a movie at the Ritz. They are some of my favourite spots.

What are you currently reading?
Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah.

What are you currently listening to?
Alan Watts – philosophy of Taoism, that and Aretha Franklin. Always.

Happiness is?
Something that comes and goes. But because of its absence are we able to fully appreciate it when it re-appears.

What does the future hold for you?
I could only guess. But I know that if I’m not in a hurry to get there I’ll have more fun.
