Melbourne Zoo’s 2018 Zoo Twilight series is experiencing unprecedented demand – with more than half of the forthcoming series now sold out. The Teskey Brothers, Jet and RocKwiz Live! have all joined the sellout list, making the current tally nine sold out performances in the 16-date series. They join the ranks of The Cat Empire, Ben Folds and Neil & Liam Finn who have each sold out two shows.
There is still a chance to experience the magic of Zoo Twilights, with tickets on sale to see Cut Copy, Sunnyboys, The Preatures, Neil & Liam Finn’s history making third show – which will see the father and son duo become the first artists to play three nights in the event’s 20+ year history – Hiatus Kaiyote, Grizzly Bear, and Kate Miller-Heidke with String Quartet.
For those eagerly awaiting the final two artists to be revealed, Zoo Twilights is pleased to announce NIMA award-winning duo Electric Fields will support Cut Copy on Saturday 27 January. Often featuring languages of the Anangu people, Electric Fields’ music ranges from soulful pop to epic-scale electronic works, through to intensely intimate story-songs.
Swedish pop romantic Jens Lekman will join Grizzly Bear on Friday 9 March for his first Melbourne show in four years, making for a night of indie juggernauts. Jens Lekman is touring in support of his fourth album Life Will See You Now, which attracted a coveted 8.0 review on Pitchfork, with The Guardian awarding 5 stars, calling the album “mordant but joyous indiepop.”
