“South Australia is renowned as the Festival State and is home to many small businesses in the creative industries, which are vital to our state’s economy,” said Minister for Arts & Small and Family Business, The Hon. Andrea Michaels MP.

“We have unveiled 20 initiatives designed to help businesses in all sectors, including the arts, with business fundamentals including financial management, marketing and governance.”

“I am eager for creative professionals to participate in programs like ARTSELERATE to ensure their passion and talent is backed by the business skills and knowledge to ensure their success,” said The Minister.

The creative industries are full of small businesses, including those within the festival, design, music and screen sectors, and they are crucial to our state’s economy, contributing millions of dollars each year.

The Strategy contains 20 practical support initiatives to be rolled out, which were informed through comprehensive engagement with more than 1000 small business owners and key stakeholders across the state.

Initiatives will be rolled out in the coming weeks and months, addressing the following themes:
• Strengthening business capability
• Building skills and workforce
• Navigating the digital environment
• Boosting business sustainability
• Embracing diversity
• Improving access to government services.

The Small Business Fundamentals Program, which will deliver support and training to boost understanding of business basics and build capability, will be of particular interest to small business owners and sole traders in the arts and creative sectors.

Creative Plus Business Group is one of our delivery partners, funded to deliver ARTSELERATE SA – an incubator and accelerator program open to creative businesses across metropolitan and regional South Australia.

ARTSELERATE will support creative practitioners and arts professionals to develop professional growth strategies, devise practical business plans, and engage in networking and collaboration opportunities through a guided peer-coaching program.
