A classic romantic comedy with a distinctive Australian feel, Things Not To Do After a Break Up is currently playing at The Depot Theatre in a Sydney premiere season until 16 June 2018.
Lauren thinks she has it all, until she’s dumped by her boyfriend, Gideon, and dropped by her literary agent, all on the same day. Devastated, Lauren lashes out, making all kinds of mistakes until her friends make her realise the only way she can get over Gideon is to write a book about the Things Not To Do After a Break Up.
Interviewing her friends, including former boyband member Damian, relationship disaster zone Kelly, nice but highly strung Sarina and blokey Jay; she quickly adds to her list. Don’t rant about your ex on Facebook, don’t burn your ex’s favourite clothes or sleep with their best friend. These are just three of the many Things Not To Do After a Break Up.
Directed by Emma Louise, Things Not To Do After a Break Up features a stellar cast including Gil Balfas, Sareena Barnes, Amy Victoria Brooks, Tom Harwood, Tristan Lewis-Upton, Lara Lightfoot and Wayne Tunks.
For nearly 20 years acclaimed dramatist, Wayne Tunks has been making quality independent theatre that has been seen all over Australia. His most successful work includes: The Subtle Art of Flirting, We’ll Always Have Wagga, Silvertop Ash, The Bridesmaid Must Die, The Girlie Show and Everything I Know I Learnt From Madonna.
Tunks has been producing hit shows at The Depot since 2016 including: Flame Trees, Bitch and this year’s smash hit for Mardi Gras, According to Otto. A former storyliner for Network Ten’s Neighbours, Tunks has just released his first web series, After Nightfall – which is currently winning awards all over the world.
