Considered one of the most loved dance stories of all time, StageArt brings to Chapel Off Chapel, a brand new production of Saturday Night Fever from 13 February 2016.
The date is 1976 and Brooklyn heartthrob Tony Manero is a young man with an extraordinary ability to dance. Stuck in a dead-end job he has only one ambition in life – to become the disco king. When he meets Stephanie who also dreams of a world beyond Brooklyn, they decide to train together for a dance competition and their lives begin to change forever.
Director Robbie Carmellotti, and Choreographer Luke Alleva, who starred in the 2005 West End production will bring this Australian premiere revival to life. Luke is a highly sought after choreographer and performer whose credits include: We Will Rock You, Hot Shoe Shuffle, Mamma Mia, Xanadu, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and A Chorus Line, just to name a few.
With a book by Nan Knighton (in collaboration with Arlene Phillips, Paul Nicholas, and Robert Stigwood), it is jam-packed with legendary hits from the Bee Gees including classics: Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever, Jive Talking, You Should Be Dancing, Immortality and How Deep Is Your Love.
Mike Snell (Strictly Ballroom, Wicked, Legally Blonde, The Boy From Oz, I Will Survive) and Sheridan Anderson (West Side Story, Pippin, Our House) lead an outstanding cast of more than twenty hugely talented singer/actor/musicians who will play the instruments, dance and sing in this spectacular new production that has taken the West End by storm.
