On the Couch with Tammy Anderson

Tammy Anderson AAR On the CouchWho is Tammy Anderson?
I’m a proud mum and young grandmother and a passionate dedicated artist dabbling in all the things I love, acting, writing, directing, and producing.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
I feel that I’m on the right path with my passion for Human Rights. My movement has been my whole career, for the benefit of others, being a voice for the voiceless in regards to rape, violence, and abuse. I work tirelessly for my community, nurturing our Indigenous Youth, our future, and bridging gaps. My work also reflects deeply on the human condition and therefore my contributions make change for many.

Who inspires you and why?
Anyone pushing their own boundaries and taking risks to further themselves. You must lead by example. You must keep educating yourself.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
My 30 year career has been a major contribution, and I know I’ve made a difference, so I’m staying on this golden path and continuing moving forward with my voice, my dreams.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Anywhere with my gorgeous children and grandchildren. We love camping, open fires, beaches and the high country camping!!

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take then to, and why?
The Hot Springs on Mornington Peninsula. Magic healing waters from the depths of Mother Earth on Boonwurrung Country. It’s a beautiful space, where you can relax, unwind and rest mind, body and soul.

What are you currently reading?
The Sun and Her Flowers
– Rupi Kaur; Eyrie – Tim Winton; and The Power of Now – Eckhart Tolle.

What are you currently listening to?
Gang Of Youths, Go Farther In Lightness. Faithful Man Lee Fields.

Happiness is?
Gratitude and being with my family. Watching the faces and every move of your grandchildren. Profound new levels of LOVE.

What does the future hold for you?
Lots of exciting things! We are about to open Trustees at the Malthouse Theatre. Also I’m currently studying my second Masters at The School of Film and Television, Melbourne University, and have just made two short films. Planting creative seeds with artists to collaborate on big projects. Starting my own production company. At present I feel like a magnet and everything I’ve dreamed of is coming true. If you take care of each moment you take care of all time.

Tammy stars in Malthouse Theatre’s production of Trustees in a world premiere season from 28 September 2018. For more information, visit: www.malthousetheatre.com.au for details.
