She is a Scottish born, Perth raised actress and graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. The recipient of the 2017 Young Australian Achiever of the Year, she is most known for her portrayal of Glinda the Good Witch in the Wicked. Having performed the role in 6 countries and 10 cities, the highlight was being taken over to London’s West End to join the 10th Anniversary cast. Other notable roles are Sophie in Mamma Mia!, Kathy in Company and Diva in I wish My life were like a musical. She currently resides in London with her fiancée Laura and is loving being back in the Australian theatre scene.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
I would have finished my Law/Commerce degree. I adore acting and have worked consistently for the last 12 years but I also love the world of business and wish I hadn’t let the degree expire before completing it.

Who inspires you and why?
My mum! She is constantly hustling, learning, putting herself out there and striving to achieve.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Restrict screen time and encourage people to look up! There is so much to see in the world and so much to experience.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
This is a difficult question for me. I have spent the last 5 years travelling Europe at every chance I can get, so to pick a destination is very hard! However, a few favourites are Cefalu in Sicilly, Nice and Cassis in France and Hvar in Croatia. Although, coming back to Aus… there really is no place like home!

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I always take them for Brunch. I love the Melbourne cafe culture. When I used to live here, the Botanic Gardens and St Kilda were a must.

What are you currently reading?
Wedding magazines. I am loving planning my upcoming wedding but I must admit, it doesn’t leave much time for reading books and I can’t wait to pick one up again post July!

What are you currently listening to?
Six the musical cast recording! I am OBSESSED!

Happiness is?
Spending time with family and friends. When you live away for so long, there is no better thing that to while away the time in the company of people who really know you.

What does the future hold for you?
A return to London for a bit and then off to the South of France to get married. I can’t wait! Career wise, after this stint in Aus, I think a return home may soon be on the cards. I adore London and love working there, but the lifestyle we have in Australia, really is second to none!

Suzie stars as Jenny Lind in Barnum the Circus Musical – currently playing at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre until 2 June 2019. For more information, visit: www.barnumthemusical.com.au for details.
