On the Couch with Pierre Ulric

Pierre Ulric Arts Review On the CouchWho is Pierre Ulric?
Pierre Ulric is a father, a dreamer, and a performer of mysteries.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
Scientific research, medical doctor or, even better, mad inventor!

Who inspires you and why?
My partner, because of her dedication and patience. My son, because of his purity, curiosity, and sense of amazement.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Promote education, tolerance, and rational thinking everywhere I can.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
I love travelling and so many places inspire me, but if I have to chose, I’ll say Indonesia. It still provides me with this wild sense of adventure, there is so much variety within the archipelago and the waves are amazing there.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I live in Perth, Western Australia. If I can, I take them to Rottnest Island for at least a day and a night. The place is magical and relaxing like no other.

What are you currently reading?
The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera.

What are you currently listening to?
The incessant sound of Mediterranean cicadas chirping aggressively in the pine forest (I’m currently holidaying in the south of France).

Happiness is?
Everywhere… if you know where to look for it.

What does the future hold for you?
Probably more of the same, perhaps just more of it. I’m sure there will be a few surprises too!

Pierre will be presenting his new and exciting production, White Lies as a part of the 2017 Melbourne Magic Festival at the Northcote Town Hall from 11 July. For more information, visit: www.melbournemagicfestival.com or www.pierreulric.com for details.
