On the Couch with Phillip Lee Curtis

Phillip Lee Curtis oncWho is Phillip Lee Curtis?
Performer, Graphic Designer, Singer, Dancer, Writer, Loser of weight, Survivor of Adolescence, I may or may not be PoshLopez. To quote myself, “I am a ridiculous human being”.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
Probably nothing, I tend to think everything happens as it’s meant to.

Who inspires you and why?
I’ve always been inspired by strong women, I grew up not only surrounded by them in my real life, but also in the TV Shows I watched (Xena, Charmed) and the music I listened to (Spice Girls, No Doubt), I just think they’re rad and I always gravitate towards them.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I hope that I already make a difference by making people smile, but I think the best thing I can do is share knowledge.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
I don’t think I’ve found it yet, but Spain looks pretty good.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take then to, and why?
I’d probably head straight to Chapel St to show them all of my favourite shops and cafes.

What are you currently reading?
I just finished The Fourth Bear by Jasper Fforde (he’s amazing) and am a few pages into a book called Sixteen Shades of Crazy by Rachel Trezise.

What are you currently listening to?
I’m actually listening to a huge mix as I’m preparing for my show, Who is PoshLopez?, but in between rehearsals I am enjoying Anastacia’s Resurrection, fantastic album.

Happiness is?
Knowing who you are.

What does the future hold for you?
Anything I want.

A relative newcomer to the stage, Phillip is currently appearing in Who is PoshLopez? at The Butterfly Club until 14 December 2014. For more information, visit: www.thebutterflyclub.com for details.
