On the Couch with Georgina Naidu

Georgina Naidu AAR On the CouchWho is Georgina Naidu?
Georgina Naidu!

What would you do differently from what you do now?
Get eight hours sleep a night.

Who inspires you and why?
People who are passionate about something and give it a 100%.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Where do I start? Top of my list would be to create Equality! Justice! Sustainability!

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Somewhere warm and relaxed with my kids. No rushing, no need to layer clothing and lots of unwinding. I feel happier when I’m in that kind of environment.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
If friends came to town at the moment I’d take them to Red Stitch Theatre to see The Feather in the Web. It’s a gorgeous theatre and an amazing play.

What are you currently reading?
The Cripple of Inishmaan. I’m directing it in a couple of months.

What are you currently listening to?
Adrian Eagle. I find his voice very moving. He puts so much heart into his performances. I read recently that he is also a Naidu, so maybe I have a DNA connection to his music.

Happiness is?
So many things. My children playing together and laughing. Spending time with people I love. Working with amazing people and creating work that reaches people.

What does the future hold for you?
Parenting, directing, acting, teaching and hopefully unpacking. I moved house recently but haven’t been home much.

Georgina is currently starring in Nick Coyle’s The Feather in the Web at the Red Stitch Theatre until 1 March 2020. For more information, visit: www.redstitch.net for details.
