Elena Maximova AAR On the CouchWho is Elena Maximova?
Elena Maximova is an opera singer from the Urals in the middle of Russia. She studied in Moscow and today is a guest performer in opera houses all over the world.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
Nothing – I am one of the happiest people in the world because my job is my passion.

Who inspires you and why?
My teachers and my colleagues. When we practice and perform music there are always new aspects to discover.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I would invest in education. For children, all experiences and avenues in life should be possible and free of charge. I grew up in the Soviet Union where this model was a reality.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
The Maldives – it was where I went on my first vacation with my husband.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
To the opera house to watch my performance and afterwards to a typical local restaurant.

What are you currently reading?
The Snowman by Jo Nesbo.

What are you currently listening to?
At home I prefer silence!

Happiness is?
Spending time with close friends, family and my dog.

What does the future hold for you?
Hopefully a lot of interesting work and inspiring people!
