On the Couch with Christie Whelan Browne

Christie Whelan BrowneWho is Christie Whelan Browne?
Christie Whelan Browne is a 30-something actress playing Janet in The Rocky Horror Show.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
I would be a beauty therapist. I have a sick obsession with extracting things that shouldn’t be growing in the human body.

Who inspires you and why?
My co-star in Rocky inspires me, Tim Maddren. He is a very kind, generous, warm, positive person and in spending the past 4 months on tour with him I have never once seen him lose his temper or patience. He is kind of incredible and I strive to be more like him.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Promote more equality. I believe everyone deserves equal and decent human rights.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
New York City – my husband, Rohan and I have both always wanted to go and never have. We are already calling it our fav’ though. Hopefully we get there this year.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take then to, and why?
I like to take them to my house! I love our little house and love entertaining. However San Telmo in town is my ‘out of towners’ go-to place. Its amazing food, down a little lane way in the city – always a winner.

What are you currently reading?
After reading Zoë Fosters latest book I have gone out and bought all of them! Currently Air Kisses by her.

What are you currently listening to?
Jill Scott & Janelle Monet

Happiness is?
Being with my husband, my family, my cat, my friends…. surrounded by people I love.

What does the future hold for you?
Hopefully continuing to work in the industry I love, always striving to be a better person and perhaps one day create a mini Christie and Rohan.
