On the Couch with Captain Kidd

Mark Captain Kidd Winmill AAR On the CouchWho is Captain Kidd?
Captain Kidd is Australia’s leading burlesque brat child, King of Burlesque 2011, crowned in Las Vegas! A shit stirrer, a gender bender and a mover and shaker. And when he’s not drenched in rhinestones touring the globe he’s planting trees and inventing cocktails with ingredients from his tropical fruit orchard.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
If I wasn’t in the world of Show Biz I would be a full time environmentalist instead of a part time one.

Who inspires you and why?
I am inspired by the hilarious Lucille Ball; Barbette – the female impersonating trapeze artist from the 1920s/30s; and of course CC Bloom from Beaches.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I would rid this world of greed and corruption, if only I had super powers!

Favourite holiday destination and why?
I have too many favourite holiday destinations and am so lucky to travel this stunning planet but one place would have to be Savai’i, Samoa.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
If friends visit my home I will usually take them on a pub crawl by boat along the stunning Clarence River or visit the coastal national parks of the Bundjalung and Gumbaynggirr nations. Oh and of course the big banana.

What are you currently reading?
I am currently reading a few books, actually I have about six half read books, not too sure what that’s about!

What are you currently listening to?
I am currently listening to Bling by Autoerotique featuring Lady Leshurr, and some sweet country pop by Kasey Musgraves.

Happiness is?
A day drinking in a tropical island after a coconut oil massage!

What does the future hold for you?
Living part time on my dream houseboat, being self-sufficient and of course a goat farmer, seriously!

Mark ‘Captain Kidd’ Winmill returns with the Briefs Boys in Close Encounters at Arts Centre Melbourne from 20 – 24 March; and Brat Kids Carnival on Saturday 23 March 2019.
