On the Couch with Amy Lehpamer

Amy Lehpamer oncWho is Amy Lehpamer?
Me? Amy? I’m Amy Lehpamer. Playing Janet in Rocky Horror at the moment.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
If I wasn’t a performer I’d probably be in a corporate job where I talked a lot and waved my hands around, and constantly insisted the team building exercise is karaoke.

Who inspires you and why?
Amy Poehler, Tina Fey. Extraordinary, hard working women who aren’t afraid to be leaders and do everything with tenacity and charm. They’re brilliant.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Amy Poehler has a project called “smart girls” which is all about empowering young girls and women to be themselves at their fullest. To be everything and anything they want. I’d love to work on something like that here in Australia.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Japan. It’s been awhile between visits, but I adore Tokyo. Would love to explore more of the country soon…

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take then to, and why?
I’m a Melbourne girl, and between shows I work for a boutique tour company called “hidden secrets”. I love doing the tours and showing people the ins and outs of the city.

A Girl Is a Half Formed Thing
by Eimear McBride.

What are you currently listening to?

Breakfast in the sunshine with my love to start the day, and delicious wine and chocolate to end it. With a show in between.
