On the Couch with Alyssa Moore

Alyssa Moore AAR On the CouchWho is Alyssa Moore?
I’m a circus performer originally from the small town, Ulladulla (NSW), currently living in Melbourne.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
I would probably be a costume designer. I loved making leotards and circus costumes as a teenager. I really like fabrics and glitter.

Who inspires you and why?
It’s really a combination of my peers, Instagram, and Pinterest. I have so many cool, talented and creative friends in all aspects of the arts. Sometimes it’s their skill that inspire me and sometimes it’s their work ethic. I love the knowledge share that Instagram provides, I’m constantly finding new variations of skills that I do, or am inspired by innovative people using old or new apparatus. Pinterest, it’s my go to for every day inspiration; whether it’s life hacks, costume design, interior design or organisational porn, to name a few.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Such a charged question but I’m going to go with short and sweet and put Trump in a box.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Barcelona. It’s got everything I love; a good circus community, amazing markets, the ocean, buzzing nightlife and just generally an active city.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
There’s not particularly one attraction, but more like how I’d spend a day with them in Melbourne. Firstly a coffee from Vacation, then a tram ride to Gleadell St Markets (great market banter and fresh produce), visit Citizen Park (dog park), make them breakfast from the market goodies, head into the city, more coffee, shopping, stroll through the laneways, and finish with some bar hopping.

What are you currently reading?
Not much of a reader, but I do enjoy The Betoota Advocate‘s short stories.

What are you currently listening to?
Coloring Book by Chance.

Happiness is?
Dogs and coffee.

What does the future hold for you?
Hopefully a whole lot more laughing, traveling, and performing. I love that lifestyle.
