On the Couch with Ally Fowler

Ally Fowler Arts Review On the CouchWho is Ally Fowler?
I’m an Australian TV, Film and Stage actress who has been in the industry for over 30 years. I am also a founding member of the 80’s girl pop group, The Chantoozies.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
I probably would have not wasted as much time as I did in my younger days, been more proactive professionally, but I must say I had fun doing it!

Who inspires you and why?
So many people inspire me both professionally and personally. I think charity aid workers, at home and overseas, are extraordinary, many of whom give up their time for free.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Maybe some of the above, as they say, every little bit helps!

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Too many! I loved India for the vibrant colour, culture and incredibly friendly people. Also travelling through Italy or more accurately eating my way through Italy. Mexico is also a favourite spot, so much to see and do! Basically, I’m happy anywhere that’s warm.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I love the Heide Museum of Modern Art – such a gorgeous setting and of course fabulous art? Also probably a trip to the Mornington Peninsula for a little wine tasting!

What are you currently reading?
Between a Wolf and Dog by Georgia Blain.

What are you currently listening to?
David Bowie.

Happiness is?
Anywhere with friends! Lying on the beach in summer with a good book, oh and margaritas and guacamole.

What does the future hold for you?
Adventures, adventures, adventures!
