Join our iconic hero characters Pigsy, Sandy, Tripitaka and the immortal Monkey as they take audiences on an extraordinary journey – brimming with heavenly beings, fallible mortals, monsters and spirits, as they overcome 81 tribulations on their journey from China to India to obtain the sacred scriptures and enlightenment.

Combining comedy, music, song and spectacular martial arts, this is the first time the iconic Chinese story has been adapted to the stage in Australia in a large-scale and highly physical production from renowned theatre for families, Kim Carpenter’s Theatre of Image.

Directed by John Bell and Kim Carpenter, this highly-anticipated Australian adaption features Darren Gilshenan (The Moodys), Aljin Abella (The Sapphires), and Team9Lives who will showcase their incredible skills in parkour and martial arts. Come on the adventure with Monkey and his friends and live the magic!
