Since its inception in May 2013, Australian Arts Review has taken a look at Australia’s professional and independent performing arts sector featuring a broad selection of cabaret, circus, comedy, dance, film, musical theatre, opera and theatre.
In addition, Arts Review has featured selected Australian book and film releases, as well as what is currently on at our metropolitan and regional galleries. Our ‘On the Couch’ series has become one of our most popular features, taking readers behind the scenes, looking at a diverse selection of artists from the creative sector.
In the past 12 months, we have published in excess of 1400 articles, and have seen a 38% increase in our visitation to the Australian Arts Review website. We have relied on a generous amount of goodwill from our reviewers to maintain our level of coverage.
In 2018, we would like to upgrade our functionality to make Arts Review a more interactive experience, especially for those who have access or special needs. To attract and retain a diverse selection of experienced and emerging writers, we would like to compensate them for their contribution – this is something we have aspired to do since our beginning. We also would like to expand our reviewing coverage into areas not already covered.
We’re looking for members (not subscribers – our online content will continue to be freely accessed) – to help deliver and support Arts Review’s coverage of the creative sector. Benefits will include: a dedicated monthly newsletter (commencing 1 February 2018), members-only giveaways, and access to special rates to shows & events. In addition, Not-for-profit and corporate organisations will have access to special member advertising rates on the Arts Review website. We are offering three membership levels:
By supporting Australian Arts Review, you will be helping us to make a contribution to the strength and diversity of independent and professional performing and visual arts in Australia. We look forward to your support – membership is for 12 months. For more information, email: email@example.com for details.
