Lady Sings It Better

Lady Sings It BetterBringing their raucous show to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for the very first time, Lady Sings it Better appear at The Butterfly Club for a limited season from 15 April 2015.

Smashing expectations one soaring harmony at a time, four women take on the world’s most famous male musicians and reinvent them as a hilarious cabaret. With stellar vocals, cheeky feminism and a whole lot of ridiculous dancing they skewer crazy lyrics from male pop stars.

This is Robin Thicke, Bruno Mars, Nine Inch Nails, Queen and The Wiggles as you’ve never heard them before. With dry wit and tongues planted firmly in cheek, the Ladies romp through popular culture, inviting audiences to rediscover well known tunes and enjoy the lyrical absurdity of pop music.

“We both celebrate and poke fun at pop culture,” says director Maeve Marsden. “We find the awkward, the sexist, the crazy and the bizarre in songs you never realised could be comic.”

Lady Sings It Better deliver complex harmonies with ambitious and unexpected arrangements, delivering just as much musically as they do comically, regularly entertain sold out crowds nationally and internationally with their subversive and delightfully wild brand of feminist cabaret.
