James Halloran’s Debutante Ball

James Halloran’s Debutante BallBlending orchestral theatricality, erotic depth, and pop appeal with the artist’s candour, James Halloran presents Debutante Ball at The Butterfly Club for one performance only on Sunday 26 March 2017.

Twisting the carnal and the weird into his musical inventions, Halloran is sensitive, aggressive, irresistible, his soaring voice commands that you hang onto each creative exquisite note. He is a weaver of stories, a conductor of silence into motion into sound, dedicated to the sonic explorations of sensuality, love, and the power of nature.

After several years of performance, experimentation, and growth, the Brisbane-based artist released in 2016, his debut EP HIM. An offering of wild lyricism married to human existential crisis, the EP is a work full of rich orchestration and vocal eclecticism, and was met with stark acclamations, with Higher Plain Music describing his music as “like Enya on steroids”.

Join Halloran as he leaves Brisbane and enters his delusion of a new aristocratic-life in high-society Melbourne, this night of debauchery should not be missed. Audiences can expect lush, celtic-influenced string arrangements, brand new material and Halloran’s trademark theatrical flair.

Debutante Ball is part rock-show, part drag-theatre, the venue will be totally transformed, seducing the audience to join Halloran’s strange, otherworld.
