With their physical doors shut, the Riverside Theatres team have been hard at work creating a brand-new unique viewing experience, Riverside Theatres Digital – a series of specially produced concerts, digital film screenings and more, ensuring audiences can stay connected and entertained over this time.
The concerts will be fully live multi camera events, streaming once only, on Sunday nights just after the sun sets at 5.00pm. The series commences on 31 May with You’ll Never Walk Alone.
Helpmann Award-winner and Riverside favourite Luke Joslin directs the highs and lows of your favourite musical theatre songs performed by a stellar cast including Rachael Beck, Daniel Belle, Michael Cormick, Robert McDougall and Penny McNamee, with legendary musical director Michael Tyack AM on piano.
The second concert serves up sidesplitting laughs with The Wharf Revue’s Jonathan Biggins and Phil Scott as they present their No Cabaret for Old Men on Sunday 7 June 2020.
Biggins and Scott give a veritable masterclass in cabaret – with neither the mastery nor class. Together, these lightly-seasoned performers examine the many strands of the cabaret art form – Audition Cabaret, Name-Drop Cabaret, Weimar, Broadway, Political, and the ever-popular “Rehash Some Old Material During the Lockdown.”
With something for everyone, more concert details will be announced soon. The first two concerts have a “Choose what you pay” ticketing option with a minimum ticket price of only $12. For more information, visit: www.riversideparramatta.com.au for details.
