Hayes Theatre Co. announces 2015 Cabaret Season

“Hayes Theatre Co is bringing a Cabaret Season that is bigger and bolder with the diversity and captivating performances that audiences have come to expect from us,” said Victoria Wildie, General Manager of Hayes Theatre Co.

The 2015 Cabaret Season will feature award winning cabaret artists including; Marina Prior, Geraldine Quinn, Phil Scott, Amanda Harrison and Tyran Parke. Rob Mills and Damien Leith both make their Hayes Theatre Co debuts and Mitchell Butel returns with his sell-out hit Killing Time.

Kathleen Amarant, Lucinda Barratt, Tim Carney, Andrew Hondromatidis, Joe Kosky and Catherine Langley will bring the music of Ahrens & Flaherty to life, while Luigi Lucente shines a light on Jim Morrison, and Bree Langridge showcases the legendary hits of the Motown era.

Justin Burford explores the songs of Kurt Cobain, and Michael Falzon and Bobby Fox present an intimate version of Painted from Memory – the music of Burt Bacharach and Elvis Costello.  Comedy cabaret from Marney McQueen in Hair to the Throne and Bethany Simons in Reception: The Musical and Josie Lane stars in her brand new show Asian Provocateur.

Special events for the season include Australiana – An Evening of Australian Musical Theatre on Monday 1 June with Musical Director and Composer Max Lambert.  Two Panel Discussions:  Come to the Cabaret – a discussion on how to maximize the success of a cabaret; and Components – industry leaders discuss what it takes to put on a musical. Kelly Abbey and Max Lambert will present an exclusive audition Masterclass, while award winning star of Les Misérables, Hayden Tee will hold a performance Masterclass.
