The award winning director Gale Edwards directs this jewel of American musical theatre. Gypsy was inspired by the memoirs of the famous burlesque dancer Gypsy Rose Lee, and charts the story of her outrageous mother, Rose, who is determined to live out her own dreams of stardom through her two daughters.

Featuring all time favourites from the legendary Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim, Everything’s Coming up Roses, You Gotta Have a Gimmick, Let Me Entertain You, Some People and Rose’s Turn, Gypsy is a ‘must see’ for all lovers of musical theatre.

Caroline O’Connor, who helped launch the company in 1999, returns to Australia to star in the role of Rose. The cast also includes Matt Hetherington as Salesman Herbie, who falls for Rose and becomes her manager; Christina Tan as Louise, who becomes the famous burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee.

Gypsy also features Chloe Dallimore, Gemma-Ashley Kaplan, Nathan Pinnell, Nicki Wendt, Anne Wood and a terrific supporting cast. Musical Direction by Guy Simpson, Choreography by Andrew Hallsworth, Costumes by the award winning Tim Chappel, sets by Adam Gardnir, with lighting by Paul Jackson & Robert Cuddon.
