Commemorating the lives of people both real and fictional with rousing theatricality and unforgettable songs, Elegies: A Song Cycle is a celebration of life with music written by multi Tony Award winning composer and lyricist William Finn (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Falsettos, Little Miss Sunshine).

From Finn’s friends, to his mother, to his dogs, to the victims of the World Trade Centre collapse, these characters and their stories will enchant and enrich your spirit in this stunning masterwork that celebrates the human experience and life’s infinite joys.

Directed by Joshua James Webb, Elegies: A Song Cycle features a host of familiar and new faces including Melbourne favourite Vincent Hooper (Avenue Q, Heathers), up-and-comers Rebecca Hetherington (Heathers, First Date) and Jacob Darby (Avenue Q, Song Contest), and recent WAAPA graduates Marissa Economo (Paris: A Rock Odyssey) and Ashley Roussety (Spring Awakening).

Elegies: A Song Cycle is an intimate and moving remembrance of the people and events that touched the composer’s life and explores how we all deal with loss in this ever-changing world, while relishing in the quirky and poignant characters that enter it. An uplifting show, the lyrics have bite and wit, and always emphasize happiness, not mourning.
