Blanc de Blanc to headline MAP 57 – St Kilda’s Winter Garden

Blanc de BlancTake one triangle of inner city seaside land, fill it with savvy small bars, luscious food stalls, an antique Spiegeltent full of stunning shows, carnival rides, quirky sideshows, sparkling lights and roaring fires and you have the warmth and wonder of MAP 57 – St Kilda’s Winter Garden.

Headlining MAP 57’s program is the Melbourne premiere of sizzling new circus show Blanc de Blanc, which will be housed in the stunning decadence of The Aurora Spiegeltent from 15 June – 30 July 2017.

Selling-out its critically acclaimed run at the Sydney Opera House, Brisbane Festival and Adelaide Fringe along with a triumphant season in London’s West End, Blanc de Blanc features the finest cabaret and acrobatic talent from around the world in a wild, shimmering night.

Blanc de Blanc offers heady top notes followed by rich textures, a smooth body and an utterly unexpected finish. For an evening of breathless abandon, you’ll be in the right place!

From the creative minds behind 2015 Melbourne Festival hit LIMBO and Madonna’s recent Rebel Heart Tour, this new production will have audiences immersed in a world of overflowing champagne bottles, sparkles and glimmer leaving the audience bubbling with excitement.

“I wanted to create a new circus show, which I like to call a ‘champagne cabaret’ that transports the audience into a heady, bubble filled, overflowing, crazy party,” said Blanc de Blanc Director and Creator, Scott Maidment. Every act in the show is inspired by champagne, with giant bubbles, foam, a human champagne fountain and lots more surprises which I don’t want to give away!”

Expect big moves, great tunes, lots of skin and more than a few surprises in a show that will serve up titillating acts to infatuate, illuminate and delight. The production is choreographed by Kevin Maher (who has choreographed for the likes of Justin Bieber, Britney Spears and Madonna) with costumes by James Browne (All Saints, Australian Idol).

The Box – a second performance space within MAP 57, will present a program of music, comedy and family friendly entertainment across the school holidays.  The program will be announced late May.

MAP 57 is presented by The Gardener of Unearthly Delights. For 17 years, The Gardeners (Buxton Walker Pty Ltd and Strut & Fret Production House) have presented Australia’s biggest independent live arts carnival, the award winning The Garden of Unearthly Delights in Adelaide. The Garden has inspired events across the globe including The Assembly Gardens in Edinburgh, and the Underbelly Festival Southbank London.

Blanc de Blanc plays in The Aurora Spiegeltent at MAP 57 from 15 June – 30 July 2017. For more information, visit: www.map57.com or www.blancshow.com for details.
