Ben Noir: A French Cabaret

TBC Ben Noir A French CabaretBen Noir caught an early break as a Featured Acrobat in Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge. In his off-screen life, he subsequently moved to Europe, spending much time in Paris and worked his way from street performance, via a plethora of obstacles, to some of the most (in)famous cabaret and burlesque stages in the world. Ben Noir: A French Cabaret is a divine Melbourne premiere at The Butterfly Club from 10 May 2017.

Through a chaotic chance meeting with a local French busking musician, Ben learned some  tough lessons about protocol in the French busking scene. Through a bizarre set of events, he found himself performing in the legendary underground club Caveaux.

Between his stunning flute-like vocals, his ability to sing a classic such as Non, je ne regrette rien while maintaining a perfect handstand and engaging in a two-person-two-accordion waltz, this is a cabaret like no other.

Ben has performed at the Paris Burlesque festival and most recently in 2016 at the Montreal Burlesque Festival prior to releasing his debut recordings. He has been selected to go on to the next stage of France Has Talent for inclusion in the series later in the year.

“Ben Noir is truly a wonderful performer, captivated my audience with an act that defies cultural norms and everyone adored him.” – Scarlett James (Montreal Burlesque Festival)
