Adelaide multi-instrumentalist Adam Page announces 24-hour show

The-Lab-Adam-Page-24-Hour-ShowSouth Australia’s newest multi genre immersive performance space, The Lab will push the boundaries of live performance this month when Adelaide virtuoso, Adam Page, presents a mesmerising 24-hour program of continuous live music.

In a South Australian exclusive performance on Thursday 29 April at 7.00pm, Adam will dissect the one thing that remains constant and unwavering in life: time. For Adam Page the 24-hour show will uncover new territory as a performer and provide an important artistic statement for this era of time.

“I really want to create a show that reflects these times. With so much going on in our daily lives I am creating an experience with The Lab that will challenge and excite audiences,” says Adam.

“The aim is to take audiences through the cycle of a day in our lives. The music is still evolving, but each hour will reflect a different moment, experience and emotion.”

For Light’s Artistic Director Anne Wiberg, Adam’s show is a rare opportunity for audiences to be part of a special moment in South Australian music history.

“Events like this are incredibly rare,” says Anne. “We are excited to be able to work with Adam to create this experience. This work is symbolic of everything that The Lab represents. We want to be known for new works and experiences that are experimental and open the creative mind to what is possible.”

For this performance, audiences are invited to experience Adam Page’s show in either small blocks, or for the eager time traveller, the entire 24 hours. The concert will be recorded for future release through Wizard Tone Records.

Since its opening in February, The Lab has played host to 50 shows with 48 of them showcasing South Australian talent. With a vision for supporting local emerging artists from music, theatre, visual and digital arts, The Lab is already attracting attention from audiences and artists alike. It sits as part of the new not-for-profit cultural hub, Light.
