Adelaide Fringe: Radelaide!

Adelaide Fringe Lucy Gransbury RadelaideWith her funky and relatable ideas of ‘Adelaidean’ culture, Lucy Gransbury brings her very best in presenting her show, Radelaide at the 2017 Adelaide Fringe. With references that will have you in stitches and memories that will take you back to the days of Magic Mountain and Dazzleland, this is a must see for anyone who has been fortunate enough to grow up in the city of Adelaide. A proud Adelaidean herself, Gransbury is loud and proud, and not afraid to show it.

Gransbury’s sassy attitude brings plenty of spunk to the stage, as she does not let anyone bring down her beloved city. Her small facts to kick the show off were a pleasant beginning and her crowd participation made the show all the more engaging. The raw honesty of the show shone, and her quick-witted personality lit up the stage, giving the audience much to laugh at.

Highlights included her small gift to the crowd, giving them all an individual Fruchoc, to show her appreciation to the audience with a South Australian iconic chocolate. Gransbury certainly won the hearts of those watching her, talking about Adelaidean heroes, the highs and lows of South Australia, even educating the audience on the history of Adelaide.

The cabaret elements were delightful; giving the show a little extra, as her powerful vocals and original songs had the audience cheering her on for more. Her musical talents only added, giving the show diversity and separating it from usual comedy shows. While Lucy Gransbury has a target audience, every Adelaidean has to give her a go, because in the words of Lucy herself, Radelaide is ‘heaps good’.
