Adelaide Fringe: Dave Hughes – Deluded

Dave Hughes DeludedThe Fringe Festival is a great display of upcoming talent from all across the globe and seasoned professionals alike amongst the acts. This was no exception with the comic stylings, and unmistakable voice of Dave Hughes in his new show Deluded at The Vagabond at the The Garden of Unearthly Delights.

A light hearted show, with a real “let your hair down” feel, Deluded produces some great one liners, along with more in-depth and built upon punch line comedy.

Hughes captivates the audience, and from the very first outset, has your attention drawn and your focus steadied, ready to be hit between the eyes with some very funny, and sometimes uncouth humour, where nothing is off limits.

Even though, such a seasoned pro, it seemed at times as if Hughes would lose the flow of the show, and you could see his brain ticking over to regain his place in the script, by continually commenting on how great the crowd was, and “good on you…” – Flattery gets you everywhere it seems –

If light hearted, easy going and a bit of fun is what you’re after, then this show is well worth a watch, with topical humour and local knowledge, Dave Hughes’ show Deluded will leave you with sore cheeks and a belly workout any personal trainer would be envious of.
